" The first release to kick off Clubwerks, Origami Sound's imprint dedicated to distinctive, genre-free club material is by a 19 year old French prodigy who grew up in Manchester and is currently studying Jazz Performance at the prestigious Julliard University in NYC - JAONA, one of the most exciting producers to join our crew of hugely gifted new talent. 
The difference between average producers and great ones consists in knowing how to arrange melodic and rhythmic stimuli in extraordinary ways; our boy JAONA is a champion at conjuring the most refined sensorial scenery inside each of his tracks and have fun with it too. All the music on this EP is entirely stand-alone, furiously creative and catchy in the most subtle ways. 
This mini-album should be more than enough to get an idea of what Clubwerks is about. "

Fabel - Sinestesia

"The Fabel sound is constantly morphing through stages. From the warmth and familiarity of a “wish you were here” family photo to the depths of an icy dubbed out dream were the lines are constantly blurring. Fabel’s latest album, Sinestesia takes you through the spectrum of his sonic world.

Hailing from Barcelona Spain, Fabel is a sonic storyteller and multi-instrumentalist, as prolific on the keys as he is on the bass. Sinestesia is full of Fabel’s signature electric piano solos and his complex baselines of labyrinth style funk. His production is a true fusion of raw live sound with modern detailed digital synth and percussion.

Accompanying Fabel on a few tracks is the lovely finesse of Dutch Harpist Anne Vanschothorst and the Bluesy Guitar of Barcelona’s Ian Currie. Both are musicians Fabel has been jamming with over the last years, with many of those improvised elements have woven their way into the album. On songs like the majestic “Here once stood Elms” and spell bound down beat of “Where’s Mo”.

Sinestesia has many faces but there is logic to the journey, the listener is encapsulated in the mood bluesy atmosphere, leading you down a winding road of crafted electronica and around each bend to melancholy depths and ethereal highs."

"London based producer JD. Reid steps up to the platter with a bevy of beauties for his Terrorhythm debut, in the shape of the Maneki Neko E.P. released 7th April 2014

This 5 track E.P. coolly connects the listener with JD's ear for soulful sonics, tinged with sub rumbling bass.

Having been hotly tipped as one to watch at the tail end of last year after the success of "88", and his productions for UK Hip Hop stars Piff Gang and ItsNate, there was always a high expectation of something really special to come in 2014. Opening up with "Ralph", it's evident that that special something has announced itself. Joining the dots between grime and instrumental hip hop, with a nod to the LA beats movement, the E.P. continues to dazzle throughout it's journey.

In a time when it's becoming difficult to discover truly unique music, JD. Reid delivers on all fronts. Don't sleep on this one!"

Circula : One to watch

"In just a few short years Circula has come along way. Although always a fan of electronic music in the form of early garage and classic Hospital Records releases, the Berlin based talent only started producing more recently. Inspired by the freeform nature of jazz greats like Miles Davies and more contemporary champions like Robert Glasper, his rhythmically playful sounds have so far come on labels like Future Grooves and Disco’s Dead Records.
Fusing tough basslines with organic percussion, broken beat patterns with complex melodies his sound is one that’s both physical yet emotive, deep yet driving. As a DJ, Circula has played across Europe and the UK with the likes of Darksky and Applebottom. “I am very much interested in stripped back sound system music,” he says. “And when making dance tunes I always try to nail just a few elements along with a strong bassline.” That connection to sound system culture is made more explicit when you learn that Circula co-owns his own sound system in Totnes in the UK. It’s been host to many a great party and is growing in popularity with each one, much like Circula himself."

RISIN SOUND - VAR⋅I⋅A⋅BLE

"The first of Risin Sound’s free compilations brings VAR⋅I⋅A⋅BLE - an eclectic mix of music from some of the freshest artists currently plying their trade in the realm of electronic bass music.

The Void Productions collective were heavily involved, as the forward thinking nature of likeminded producers: Endaf, Mesijo, Kapture and Whattsun certainly helped exhibit an element of coherence as the styles and feeling presented in each track compliment each other well.

Wancho, Nightizm, Lindo Man, and the Wonky Clock/Rogan collaboration are all artists with close links to Risin Sound, and were all happy to contribute to a progressive free EP release.

It wasn’t clear until the project came together how all the tracks, and EP direction would sound and

how it should be packaged, but as it became clear about the potential of the music, it also became

clear that the varied nature of the release was quite special.

This eventually led to the name of the release, which fits nicely into the ethos of Risin Sound, and how they would like to move forward in 2014 – with the idea of fluctuating styles of bass music being at the forefront of their evolution."

Next Delicast, vinyl mix this time, comes from Dylan C, part of the Elevater Action crew and active member of the underground scene in Austin,TX where he has shared stage with influential underground artists like DJ Sliink, Distal, Wheezie, Donga, HXdb, Blind Prophet, Cosmic Revenge, VVV, Dubbel Dutch, and Vessel.

In 2013 the release of the cassette double album Samsara : Causes & Conditions for Holodeck Records brought critical acclaim from around the world to this underdog artist. 

With releases on Car Crash Set, South Fork Sound, and a forthcoming vinyl addition to Samsara series on it's way, 2014 promises to be a big year for this emerging talent.
